The American Bar Association released this statement last week ABA President Carolyn B. Lamm said, "The American Bar Association congratulates Justice Sonia Sotomayor on her confirmation as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States."

The website goes on to say that Justice Sotomayor is the first Hispanic and only the third woman to be appointed to the Supreme Court. “With this appointment the Court better reflects the population of our country.  I believe that makes our Court all the stronger.” Lamm adds.
